Composite Volcano
  • The most common of volcanoes
  • Made up of layers of lava and ash
  • Alternates between quiet and explosive eruptions
  • Over time layers build up to form a cone shape
  • This type of volcano is usually symmetric

Mount St. Helens

  • Mount St. Helens is a composite volcano located in the state of Washington in the United States. 
  • On May 18, 1980 it erupted.
